This topic reminds me of a smart choice I made lately that is to stay put to celebrate Spring Festival to serve the overall interests. Originally, I intended to go home for the festival in a joyful mood, I was so pumped for months looking forward to spending my holiday with my parents. But then due to the need to prevent and control the epidemic, I decided to stay in Beijing as a response to the government’s advice to stay put for the holiday amid the winter Covid-19 resurgence.

At the beginning, I was struggling with making such a decision, but on the other hand, travel during the festival rush might bring a higher risk of infection to me and my family, I would also have to do several rounds of nucleic acid tests and self-quarantine for days, so these procedures really discouraged me to do so.

Although we missed the chance to have a family reunion, my friend and I have been well-prepared to make this unusual Spring festival as wonderful as possible. On spring festival Eve, we cooked together, made dumplings and I video-called my family to have the far away reunion with them. My friends even figured out how to have a 3D virtual tour at home. We self-hosted our tours to the Maldives and South China’s Yunnan province. It was novel for all of us. And we indeed had a whale of a time. So yeah, that's pretty much everything.
